Highland Barn Virginia is looking for a friendly, dependable, and hard-working Farm Experience Host to help create a warm, memorable guest experience for visitors coming to meet our Highland cows and enjoy the farm.

This role is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys farm life, animals, hospitality, and working outdoors. The right person will be enthusiastic, welcoming, safety-minded, and comfortable helping guests feel at ease while representing Highland Barn in a professional and approachable way.

The Farm Visit Host will assist with hosting scheduled farm visits and photography sessions, including welcoming guests, providing basic orientation and safety instructions, answering guest questions, and helping maintain a clean, organized, and inviting guest area.

Farm visits are generally scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays, so weekend availability is required. Additional weekday or special event opportunities may be available as needed.

• Welcome guests warmly and help create a positive farm visit experience
• Provide orientation and safety instructions before and during visits
• Answer general guest questions about the farm, Highland cows, animals, and visit guidelines
• Assist with farm visits and photography sessions as needed
• Help keep guests safely positioned and aware around animals and farm areas
• Assist with tidying, resetting, and organizing the canvas tent and viewing platform before and after visits
• Maintain a clean, welcoming, and guest-ready environment
• Help with setup and breakdown related to farm visits or photography sessions
• Communicate professionally with guests and team members
• Perform other duties as assigned related to farm visits, guest experience, and farm operations

• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Comfortable with light cleaning, organizing, setup, and physical farm-related tasks

• Required availability on Saturdays and Sundays when farm visits are scheduled
• Additional availability on weekdays or special event dates is a plus
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be comfortable around large animals, including Highland cattle
• Must be comfortable working outdoors and on uneven farm terrain
• Prior experience with animals, hospitality, customer service, photography assistance, events, or farm work is helpful but not required

This position is paid per completed farm visit. Schedule and number of visits may vary based on season, weather, bookings, and farm needs.
